We install the short stroke kit, re-work hammer and trigger sear for a light crisp trigger pull, along with our polishing and action work to tune the rifle. We also install Marble’s brass bead front sight, stainless steel follower, stainless steel magazine spring and a lever safety bar spring, flat top the rear sight, and add a leather lever wrap. We mill the carrier to reduce weight and friction. We at Evil Roy Shooting School and Griner GUNWORKS believe that milling the original carrier and tuning the original springs (lever, lifter and main) produces a better quality rifle. This is a labor intensive action tuning we are proud of. Many top shooters use these rifles to take World, National, and numerous state and local matches. If you prefer us to replace parts instead of tuning the original parts, let us know and we will quote you a price.
The premier choice of the post-1874 Texas Rangers, this slab-sided saddle rifle was also favored by such well-known Westerners as Pat Garrett, William F. Cody, Montana Rancher Granville Stuart, and outlaws Butch Cassidy, Belle Starr and Billy the Kid. This rifle has checkered stock and fore-end, besides being beautiful they will keep your hands from slipping. This one is offered in .357, 18″ octagon barrel, checkered stock and fore-end, Tuned and Short Stroked.
We also offer the option of a Smooth Cycle Magazine Kit.
